Overview

Multi-tier commissions allow you to reward multiple levels (or tiers) of ambassadors in a single event.

For example, if Will refers Heather and Heather refers Rachel, multi-tier commissions will allow you to reward both Will and Heather for Rachel's purchase.

How do I enable multi-tier commissions?

Follow these steps to set up a multi-tier commission structure. Please note, a tier is only paid if the referee is automatically enrolled as an ambassador.

Step 1: In the navigation menu on the left, click “Campaigns.”

Step 2: Once on this page, check the box next to your existing campaign and additional buttons will appear. Click the blue "Edit" button.

Step 3: Next, click the "Commissions" tab.

Step 4: On the "Commissions" page, scroll down to the "Multi-Tier Commission" section.

After checking the box to enable multi-tier commissions, several fields will appear to further customize the commission structure.

  • Override Percentage: This is the percentage of the commission total that should be attributed to each additional tier.

For example, if the override percentage is 10% and a commission is $1000, the second tier would receive 10% of $1000, which is $100 and the third tier would receive 10% of $100, which is $10.

  • Number of Tiers: This is where you limit the total amount of people paid per event. To set no limit, make the number of tiers 0.

For example, using the incentive structure above with two tiers, Will refers Heather, Heather refers Rachel and Rachel spends $1,000. Heather is the referrer and receives a 10% commission which is $100, making Will the second tier in this scenario to receive $10.

  • Minimum Commission: This is where you select the dollar amount for the minimum commission you want to allow.

Using the example above, if the minimum commission was set to $15, Heather would receive her commission, but Will would not receive a commission because the amount he earns is below the minimum amount.

Step 3: Click “Save Campaign” when complete.
