We're excited to announce the new Customer Loyalty module that you can implement as a stand-alone program, or along with your referral program!

Why Loyalty?

It costs FIVE TIMES more to acquire a new customer than to retain an existing one.

At its core, Loyalty is all about retaining the client and increasing their respective LTV through by encouraging repeat purchases, and increasing the value of each of those purchases.

LTV = Average Purchase Value multiplied by Average Purchase Frequency and multiplied by Customer Lifespan

Other Program Goals

In addition to the direct revenue impact, a loyalty program is a great way to encourage your customers to provide zero-party data, clear excess inventory, get opt-in compliance issues like GDPR, grow their organic social presence/reach, and much more (depending on the creativity of the marketer).

Loyalty helps companies encourage positive customers to support the organization’s growth.

Customer Loyalty Portal

A customizable space to engage loyalty program members; they can earn and track points, track their tier status, share referral codes, earn and see their badges, complete tasks, redeem points for rewards, and more.

Tasks

Customers can earn points and rewards for performing tasks that support the brand’s KPIs.

For example:

  • Completing a user profile

  • Participating in a survey/questionnaire

  • Subscribing to a newsletter

  • Opting in to SMS

  • Sharing their link from the RAF

Badges

A gamification element to motivate positive customer behavior and campaign participation. These can be earned by performing tasks, or triggered by a customer’s behavior (number of purchases, log-in streaks etc) and may or may not have a point value attached to them.

Points Tracker

Exactly that - a high-level view of the customers loyalty points earned and their available/spent points.

Tier Tracker

Another gamification tool to incentivize participation. This bar displays the participant’s progress moving through the tiers (as set by the client) and lets them know how many points they need to achieve the next level.

Reward Redemption Catalog

Customers can redeem their points here. Brands can offer gift cards, codes for in-store credit like a discount or free shipping, and custom rewards like access to special events, swag, and exclusive products.

Also new! Referral Rewards via Portal Redemption

We've also introduced a new referral reward payment method called "Portal Rewards". You can payout referrals with points or cash value that can be redeemed for any rewards that you've enabled in the portal reward catalog!

Reward Redemption Catalog with Tango

Our direct API link with Tango allows you to easily enable your choice of over 200+ merchant gift cards and prepaid cards available in the Tango catalog. When you make a reward available in the Portal catalog, the image of the card, description, and available denominations will appear. Upon redemption checkout, your customer will receive an email from Tango with their gift card ready to be used.

Non-Task Based Rewards

Clients can build a relationship with their customers and trigger discounts or gifts on a birthday or anniversary (or any other mapped data point) in the customer’s CRM profile. Customers don’t necessarily need to take an action to earn points or rewards.

Rule Builder

The rule builder is the control room for Ambassador’s customer loyalty module. It has 3 components:

  • Cause

    • When setting up a rule, you will determine the cause to trigger that rule. For example, if you want to give a customer 100 points for an email list signup, the cause is an email list signup.

    • In the Rule Builder, you'll set the specific criteria for this rule within objects, fields, and operators.

    • Then, the rule will trigger if the criteria is passed from your CRM to Ambassador or met by stored data in your Ambassador account.

  • Logic

    • When you have multiple conditions, you can add an OR by selecting Add Condition or use the + to add an AND.

  • Effect

    • Effects are what occur from a rule trigger, such as Receive Points, Receive Badge, Send Email, and Send Webhook.

Example Loyalty Scenarios

I want to reward:

  • Purchases with a specific product

  • Purchases with a specific product category

  • Purchases with a minimum value

  • Purchases with a minimum number of items

I want to reward if:

  • It is a significant date related to a customer profile (birthday, anniversary)

  • A customer completes a task (used for attending an event, subscribing to a newsletter, completing a form fill or course etc)

  • A customer meets a milestone requirement (tenth purchase, course completion, new loyalty tier)

I want to reward with:

  • Points

  • Discount

  • Free Shipping

  • Voucher

I want points to be redeemable for:

  • Tango Gift Cards

  • Custom Items (client-fulfilled like swag, event entry etc)

  • Venmo/Paypal

When a customer triggers a reward, I want:

  • Points issued to their balance (for points rewards)

  • An email to be sent to notify the customer

  • A badge to be earned
