Overview

Ambassador is always on guard to help you keep your account and programs safe.

Fraud detection is a security feature that will help detect potentially fraudulent activity in your account. Once enabled, both suspicious ambassadors and commissions will be flagged for you to take action.

Please note, Security is only available for Enterprise plans, if you would like to upgrade your account, reach out to our Support Team.

How do I enable fraud detection?

Follow these steps to enable fraud detection within your account.

Step 1: In the navigation menu on the left, click "Settings."

Step 2: Next, click the “Security” tab. You'll be taken here.

Step 3: Toggle fraud detection on to begin flagging suspicious activity.

Step 4: Upon enabling this feature, hover to access the "Edit" button. You will then have the option to choose how often you would like to receive fraud notifications from Ambassador.

When complete, click “Submit" to save.

Where will I see fraud notifications?

In addition to receiving email notifications from Ambassador, you will also notice a “Flagged” tab in the “Contacts” and “Commissions” sections after you’ve enabled fraud detection.

Within each section you will be provided with a risk level and reason that the ambassador or commission has been flagged.

By clicking on the reason, you can see a more detailed explanation behind the score.

How do I ban or whitelist a contact that has been flagged?

In the “Flagged” contacts tab, you can view ambassadors, prospects and unsubscribed contacts that have been deemed suspicious. Upon checking the box next to the contact's email address, buttons will appear in the top right corner that allow you to either “Confirm flag” or “Unflag” the contact.

Please note, this action can be applied in bulk by selecting multiple contacts at once.

  • Confirm Flag: If you choose to "Confirm Flag," the contact will be removed from accessing all current and future programs. You can opt to either ban the contact or ban them and deny any pending commissions associated with this contact.

  • Unflag: Selecting "Unflag" will remove the contact from the “Flagged” section, thus allowing them to continue to access your referral program. You also have the option to whitelisting the contact. By doing so, you are verifying that this individual is in good standing and future flags should be ignored.

How do I unflag or deny a commission that has been flagged?

In the “Flagged” commissions tab, you can view pending commissions that have been deemed suspicious. Upon checking the box next to the date added, buttons will appear in the top right corner that allow you to either “Unflag” or “Deny” the commission.

Please note, this action can be applied in bulk by selecting multiple contacts at once.

  • Unflag: Selecting "Unflag" will remove the suspicious flag and move the commission to the "Unpaid" section. You will also have the option to whitelist the ambassador. By doing so, you are verifying that this individual is in good standing and future their commissions will no longer be flagged.

  • Deny: If you choose to “Deny” the commission, the ambassador will not receive payment for that particular referral. You can opt to either deny the commission or to deny the commission and simultaneously ban the ambassador from accessing any current or future campaigns.
