Learn how to setup your Tango account and manage it for funding, request an invoice, and notifications.

Overview

Upon enabling Tango on your Ambassador account, we'll create a sub-account for your company under our Ambassador & Tango Master Agreement. Doing so will give you access easily reward Loyalty and/or Referral participants with gift cards, prepaid cards, PayPal, and Venmo through our built-in integration partnership. How to enable Tango rewards

Step 1: Login to the Ambassador Admin App, click on Settings, then Payments.

Step 2: Within the Payment Methods screen, hover your mouse over Prepaid & Gift Cards and you'll see a Configure button appear. Click that and you'll end up here.

Step 3: Next, use the toggle button to enable Tango on your account. Once enabled, you'll be able to view details about your Tango account, including how to fund via Wire Transfer, your Tango account number (Memo line - mbsy#####), and you can bookmark this page to regularly check your available Tango balance.

Step 4: Configure the Tango rewards specific to your program needs:

  • For Referral payouts via email

  • For Referral point or cash redemption via Portal Rewards catalog

  • For Loyalty point redemption via Portal Rewards catalog

IMPORTANT: Due to federal regulations, some Tango related rewards have specific terms & conditions for which they can be used and require an approval process to have the reward enabled on your account. This includes, but is not limited to the following. If the reward type you want to use is on this list or not available in your account, please contact your Customer Success Manager or support@getambassador.com to start the request process.

  • Amazon in Mexico

  • PayPal (through Tango)

  • Venmo (through Tango)

  • Disbursement Link


Funding Management for Tango Rewards

Prior to issuing Tango related rewards, you are responsible for pre-funding your Tango account (via wire transfer or credit card) with sufficient funds to cover the value of the rewards, plus fees if applicable.

Tip: For first time clients, you may want to add an initial fund of $1,000 to $5,000 to prevent any reward delays and then monitor the activity to determine what your funding cadence and amount should be.

As you make referral payouts or an ambassador redeems points or cash value for a Tango related reward, the amount of the rewards are deducted from your available balance. To avoid delays or poor user experience with portal redemptions, it is important to setup a process to regularly monitor the available funds in your Tango account and ensure that you have enough funds to cover your estimated needs.

Depending on your funding method, it can take 24 hours (via credit card) or 2-5 business days (via ACH or wire transfer) for the funds to become available in your account. Therefore, we recommend that you plan ahead as much as possible!


How to fund your Tango account via ACH/Wire

By default, the payment settings in your account here includes the instructions and bank details for paying via ACH/Wire in USD.

If you wish to send a wire in CAD, EUR, and GBP currency, let our team know and we'll provide you with the correct banking details. Other currencies outside of these are not available at this time.

ACH is for US customers only and takes 2-5 business days to process once the Tango Funding team receives the confirmation of ACH payment from your bank.

Wire transfer is for US and international customers and takes about 1-2 business days to process once the Tango Funding team receives the confirmation of Wire payment from your bank.

Neither Ambassador or Tango charges a fee for ACH/Wire transactions. Please reach out to your bank to determine what, if any, fees you may incur.

TIP: When wiring funds, be sure to include the beneficiary, bank, account number, routing number, SWIFT code and memo provided in your Ambassador account.

The memo field with the Ambassador account number (mbsy#####) in particular will be used to identify your Ambassador account to apply the funds.

The SWIFT code is specific to wire transfers, if you are sending via ACH then you can exclude that code.

We recommend utilizing the "Click to copy" button to avoid any delays in funds being transferred due to accounting errors. This button is accessed by hovering over each line item under "Routing Information."


How to fund your Tango account via Credit Card

Alternatively, you can pre-fund your account with a credit card in USD. There is a 3.5% processing fee per credit card funding transaction, and it can take up-to 24 hours for the funds to become available on your account.

If you wish to fund via credit card, notify your Customer Success Manager or support@getambassador.com with the request and provide the name and email of the person(s) who will need access for credit card payments. Our team will setup a user account for the applicable team member(s) to login for the Tango Portal to securely register a credit card and make the funding transaction(s).


How to see your available Tango Balance

In the Ambassador Admin, go to Settings > Payments > Prepaid & Gift Cards > click Configure > and the Available Funds are right at the top of the page.

How to Setup Funding Notifications

If you would like to get notified anytime funds are deposited in your Tango account, we can setup a list of recipients to get email notifications. To do so, send a request to your CSM or support@getambassador.com with the name and email of the individuals who should receive the notifications.


How to Setup Low Balance Notifications

By default, an in-app notification will pop-up in the Ambassador Admin platform once your Tango balance reaches $500.

In Admin 2, you can also setup a notification to receive an email or webhook when your Tango balance reaches an amount you specify. The email notification can be sent to one or more team members setup in your account.

Step 1: Login to Admin 2 - https://admin2.getambassador.com/login

Step 2: Go to Settings > Notifications > click Add Notification

Step 3: Enter your selections...

  • Notify via = Email or Webhook

  • How Often = Every Time

  • When this happens = Tango available balance reaches

  • Balance Threshold = Enter the amount you wish to trigger this notification (ex. 500)

  • Email = Select the team member(s) who should receive the notification

  • or Webhook = Enter the webhook endpoint details

Step 4: Click Save


How to Request an Invoice

If you need an invoice in order to fund your account, email funding@tangocard.com with the following information to request one. The Tango funding team will reply within one business day:

  • Company Name

  • Tango account number—mbsy#####

    • To get this, go to Settings > Payments > Prepaid & Gift Cards > click Configure > and look under the Memo Line. It starts with MBSY

  • Invoice amount—the desired amount you would like to deposit in your Tango account

  • Contact email—if it’s different than requester

  • Any additional details such as Purchase Order (PO) number, if used
