Learn more about the reward types and fulfillment methods available for your programs.

Overview

Reward availability is determined by your fulfillment method and currency set in the account. This article provides you with an overview for each of those initially based on the fulfillment method.

Note: Many of our reward options are powered through an integrated partnership with Tango that is easily enabled on your account with one click.


Reward Fulfillment Options

Fulfill rewards using the Portal Rewards Catalog, instantly via Email, or externally by your team.

Portal Rewards Catalog

Enable one or more rewards in the Portal for participants to redeem their earned points or cash value.

Use Portal Rewards to give participants their choice of a reward with the added benefit of bringing them into the Portal to engage more with the program resources like their referral link or share module, program assets, and Loyalty features (if upgraded).

Overview of Flow for Portal Rewards

Loyalty

  1. Points can be issued to participants through Tasks and Rule Effects.

  2. Participant receives an email about available points in their Portal.

    1. Utilizes a Loyalty email template.

  3. In the Portal "Rewards" tab, participant redeems points for their reward choice.

    1. They can also save their points to spend later.

    2. You can also set an expiration period for Points.

  4. Participant receives an email with the reward fulfillment details.

    1. Utilizes a Portal Reward email template.

  5. For Custom rewards, setup a Notification email or webhook to notify your team to fulfill the reward.

Referral

  1. Points or Cash value for Portal redemption can be issued by selecting "Portal Rewards" as your payout method for referral commissions.

  2. Participant receives an email about available points or cash in their Portal.

    1. Utilizes a Referral campaign Fulfilled Payout email template.

  3. In the Portal "Rewards" tab, participant redeems points for their reward choice.

    1. They can also save their points or cash value to spend later.

    2. You can also set an expiration period for points or cash.

  4. Participant receives an email with the reward fulfillment details.

    1. Utilizes a Portal Reward email template.

  5. For Custom rewards, setup a Notification email or webhook to notify your team to fulfill the reward.

Note: You can limit which contacts or campaign members have access to a specific Portal Reward using Segments. Create a new segment of the contacts for this reward or using an existing campaign segment. Once the segment exists, you can select the segment when you setup the Reward in your Portal Settings.

Create custom rewards for account credits, swag, or get creative like access to special events and exclusive products. Use Ambassador to send a notification to the recipient and your team. Fulfilled by your team outside of Ambassador.


Instantly via Email

Instantly send rewards via email without the need to redeem points or cash value in the Portal.

Overview of Flow for Instant Email

  • Loyalty

    1. Trigger a reward with a Rule and send reward email as a Rule Effect.

    2. Participant receives an email with the reward fulfillment details.

      • Utilizes a Loyalty email template.

    3. For Custom rewards, setup a Notification email or webhook to notify your team to fulfill the reward.

  • Referral

    1. Select Gift/Prepaid Cards, Reward/Promo Link, PayPal, or Voucher Codes as your payout method for referral commissions.

    2. Participant receives an email with the reward fulfillment details.

      1. Utilizes a Referral campaign payment email template depending on the reward - Gift Card Payment or Fulfilled Payment.

    3. For Custom rewards, setup a Notification webhook or custom report to notify your team to fulfill the reward.

Fulfilled Outside of Ambassador

Custom rewards redeemed in the Portal or issued directly through email use Ambassador to send an email notification to the recipient, and send your team a notification to fulfill it outside of Ambassador.

      2. Your team receives an email or webhook setup in the Notification settings to fulfill the reward.

  • Direct Email

    1. Loyalty

      1. Participant receives an email with the reward fulfillment details.

        • Utilizes a Loyalty email template.

      2. Your team receives an email or webhook setup in the Notification settings to fulfill the reward.

    2. Referral

      1. Participant receives an email with the reward fulfillment details.

        • Utilizes a Referral campaign - Fulfilled Payout email template.

      2. Your team receives a webhook or scheduled report to fulfill the reward.

Rewards Available for Fulfillment Outside of Ambassador

With your team fulfilling this, the reward options are endless and completely up to your team! External fulfillment is when you want to reward custom rewards, such as:

  • A gift card for your Shopify store

    • This is setup as a webhook for your store to send the gift card via email to the recipient.

  • Swag

  • Products (even better - exclusive products!)

  • Tickets to special events

  • Account credit

As noted above in the flow, Ambassador's involvement is to help track the referral or loyalty event and trigger the reward notifications to the recipient and your team about fulfillment.
