If you are utilizing the Refer-a-Friend (RAF) module on your website or inside your Portal for your referral program participants to refer others, there are various options you can enable to make it easy for them to share.

Available Share Options

  • Sharing from the mobile Portal

  • Share Link "Copy Button"

  • QR Code

  • Email

  • Native Share (lets mobile users pick from any app on their device!)

  • iMessage

  • WhatsApp

  • Facebook

  • LinkedIn

  • X

  • Threads

Sharing from the mobile Portal

When a participant is logged into their Portal account from a mobile device, the Portal provides quick access to Copy Link, show/save QR code, and a single Share button to allow for an optimal and fast share experience in the moment whether that's in-person with someone or online.

The single share button uses native functionality that lets the user select from any app on their mobile device to share their unique referral link.

Share Link Copy Button

Enable the Copy Button to show your participants their unique referral link and a button for them to copy and share it directly.

For a website RAF: You will find this in the Editor > any RAF > Widget > Header section.

You can customize the color of the background, text, border, and button.

For the Portal RAF: You will find this in the Campaign > Portal > Share Messaging section, but you do not have the option to hide the share link and copy button.

QR Code

Enable QR Code to show your participants their unique QR code, which they can show to someone in-person. When scanned by the referred-person with the camera on their mobile device, it will redirect them to your landing page as if they'd clicked on the share link. TIP: This is a great way to enable face-to-face / offline referring!

For a website RAF: You will find this in the Editor > any RAF > Widget > Header section.

You can customize the message that appears under the code.

For the Portal RAF: You will find this in the Campaign > Portal > Share Messaging section, but you do not have the option to hide the share link and copy button.

Note: Brand customizations for the QR code are not yet available, but is being considered for our future roadmap. If you'd like to be notified when available, let your CSM know or email support@getambassador.com.

Email

Enable Email to allow your participants to add contacts and send an email right from the module.

For RAF modules on your website:

  • You will find this in the Editor > select a RAF > Widget > Channels.

  • You can toggle on "Send from Ambassadors' Email" and it will open up the default email app on their device for them to send the email from instead using the widget. This option is not yet available for the Portal RAF.

  • You can customize the button text and share message, and you can use the email template editor to insert images and/or Merge Tags to dynamically populate the referrer's name or other data points.
